Itinerary
Welcome to Meghalaya! On arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, our Jolly Holidays representative will warmly greet you and assist with your transfer to Shillong. Enjoy the scenic journey through the green hills and stop at Umiam Lake before reaching Shillong. Check in to your hotel, relax and get ready for an unforgettable Meghalaya sightseeing tour.
After breakfast check Out from Hotel & transfer to Cherrapunji (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On the way enjoy Mawkdok Valley, Nohkalikai falls, Dainthelen Falls and Ramkrishna Mission (drive pass), Garden of Caves. On arrival at Cherrapunjee, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
After breakfast we get ready for a half day trek to visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge deep inside the jungle. It will take 3 to 4 hrs (depending on the physical fitness of the person). Afternoon visit Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls), Mawsmai Cave, Koh Ram Hah and Ecopark. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Mawlynnong, Asia's Cleanest Village. Explore the beautiful village, visit the Living Root Bridge, and climb the Sky View Tower for panoramic views of Bangladesh. Continue to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Check in to the hotel, Overnight stay at Mawlynnong.
After breakfast, drive to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Enjoy an optional boat ride on the transparent river and visit the India–Bangladesh border at Tamabil. Later, drive back to Shillong and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure or explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India. Later, visit Umananda Temple on Peacock Island (optional ferry ride), Assam State Museum, and enjoy an optional Brahmaputra River Cruise in the evening. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. If time permits, enjoy a final visit to Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Basistha Ashram or Fancy Bazaar before your transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station.
